A 2025 study gave oral apigenin to middle-aged rats for 88 days. It failed to prevent obesity and did not move browning genes, sirtuins or CD38. It did preserve muscle. The benefit was not where the marketing says it is.
The strongest psoriasis result used topically applied apigenin, not a capsule. In cultured keratinocytes it raised filaggrin and loricrin, the barrier proteins central to eczema. A 2022 review confirms no human skin study exists.

Apigenin protected retinal ganglion cells, photoreceptors, and uveitic retinas in three animal studies. Most of that work injected apigenin directly into the eye, and it does not make apigenin comparable to lutein.
